About Author
Ilsa Solveig Lottes is an emerita professor of sociology at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She earned her B.S. and M.S. in mathematics from Purdue University and holds a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania, where she specialized in sexuality studies and research methodologies. A Fellow of the Scientific Study of Sexuality and a member of the International Academy of Sex Research, Lottes has an extensive international portfolio, with her work translated into multiple languages. She co-edited New Views of Sexual Health: The Case of Finland and has contributed nearly 60 chapters and articles to esteemed publications.
Inspired by the focus on women’s human rights at the 4th World Congress on Women in Beijing in 1995, her teaching and research have since centered on the impact of human rights policies on individual well-being.
